A project from my freshman year of college wherein I studied skin and sought to portray the body as something gender-less and race-less and more abstracted into something different. It is more or less meant to be body as landscape, and features models of the two traditional cisgenders and three different races.
For this project, my goal was to portray working class individuals and people from different walks of life and how time and hard work has weathered them. I went down to my local American Legion and set up shop, asking if anyone would like to have their photo taken.
I learned a lot about these individuals and the lives that they have lived, taking photos of them as they told me stories and trying to capture the words in their eyes.
